My Hot Dog

I found this website where AI would determine if you're hot, from reading a HelloGiggles article and tried it out with various photos. While my own headshots yielded only "OK" ratings (hahaha... okla AI shows dependability), I was surprised with this!

The Pedigree of Love

It is true that we only realise how much we love someone or something when we lose or are about to lose them. For me, this 'realisation' occurred a couple of weeks ago.

Happy Endings - A Poppy Tail

Poppy came to us as Puppy, a young but fully grown mixed breed. One of the neighbourhood dogs whom appeared out of a sudden and created quite an impression on the residents. She was the neighbourhood rat catcher and in return some of us would feed her and give her the occasional pat.

As with many of the dogs in our lives, she literally crawled into our lives. Starting with daily visits to our gate with friendly smiles duly rewarded by treats and meals. When we were sure she was tame enough, we invited her into our garden and she was more than willing to stay locked in. Her wild side would occasionally come calling and she found her way out by digging under the wire fence. It puzzled us initially until we peeped on her in the act. Of course we quickly rectified that loophole so that she and other dogs wouldn't be able to come in and out as they wished.

Tissue paper yummy?

I will never fathom why dogs love stealing and eating tissue paper, regardless if it's clean or soiled.

Through the years we've had a number of dogs living with us and they ALL loved eating tissue paper!

Favourite past time would include rummaging handbags for food and tissue paper. Once, Zack sniffed out a chewing gum and tried eating it. His expression of the sticky rubbery gum gluing his jaws together was priceless! Another time he stole a packet of wasabi coated nuts and was choking and wheezing from the sting of the mustard. Safe to say we never let him near wasabi since then.

But what puzzles me is why dogs find the tasteless odourless tissue paper so appealing that they go through all trickery to get some to munch (and swallow)! Beats me.

Black Dogs

The annoying thing about having black dogs is:

  1. they keep purposely tripping you at night by running in front of your legs when you're walking in the garden.
  2. accidentally kicking them when using the staircase (because the dog MUST sit in a dark corner of the wooden steps all the time).
  3. keep sitting on them when you decide to fall on the sofa for a nice rest.
  4. you can't see their eyes - whether they're open or closed or staring at you. Only brown smudges of eyebrows can be seen from afar.
  5. black fur looking like armpit hairs sticking all over your clothes and possessions. I have to self-explain myself every time before someone misinterprets.
  6. you can't tell if they're angry until you see their teeth, and that's too late!
  7. they know they're black and still they insist on rubbing themselves all over your brand new white dress as a sign of affection!

Good Friday

Today I'm thankful for:
  1. our fourth training session - more visibility with the independent directors.
  2. completing more and more assignments.
  3. leaving office at 7.30 p.m. - the earliest for the past few weeks!
  4. having Milo nuggets while driving home.
  5. seeing light still in the sky.
  6. Poppy and her enthusiastic welcome home jumps - such a big gurl!
  7. Poppy having a proper house, safe from the rain.
  8. Poppy's recovery after being shot by the dog catchers on Wednesday. She's surprisingly submissive to having to wear a collar.
  9. the weekend! After murmuring in my head for the past three days, I have come to a resolve - I will try again and again. Knock and the door will be answered.
  10. Zacky boy and his "hah hah hah hah hah".

Horsey year, yeeha!

Just for laughs - I saw this white horse in the middle of a garden-like display selling hyacinths and tulips in MALAYSIAN weather!!! (Ok, these couple of weeks have been exceptionally colder but not to the level of 16-18 degree Celsius, as stated on the plant info card)

My dog is an archaeologist

ah mutt zackaria indeed is a talented archaeologist. everyday he will take his chicken drumstick or thigh apart and spread the bones all over the door mat or on whatever surfaces he can secure. he evenly spaces out the pieces of fractured bones and meat, taking care that none are piled on top of each other. he then guards his works with a vengeance, growling ferociously (as much as possible, since he really is a very small dog) and snaps madly at anyone who dares to disturb his masterpiece! many have tried to tame the vicious animal instincts in him (and also to clean up the mess he's created) but have came back with a bitten hand or finger. the only way to evade his wrathful bites is by way of trickery, using baits such as other foods or letting him roam the garden outside.

the only consolation to this matter is that after he bites you, he immediately feels apologetic for his rash actions and starts offering an olive branch by snuggling up to you. so it is evident that the dog does have some degree of conscience. unfortunately i have not been able to graphically document his best works but below is one of his poorer jobs.

Cowardly strong dog...

psychotic zack has straightened 2 rings (so far) which are used to attach his collar to the leash... when i mean straighten... it's really straight! he jerks and dashes here and there with such force causing his multiple good quality bells to go missing and those rings (as mentioned above) to become straight metal rods... crazy nutty dog

i discovered him in the dark of the night, stuck outside of our side gate at the ledge of the drain, shivering with anxiety (cause he would fall into the drain if he dared move...)... and i had to carry him painstakingly over the gate with my arms constricted by the grills of the gate!!! he's going to pay big time!!! and to top it all off, later in the night while he was "exercising", he bit me so hard twice... and now i can see a tooth mark/laceration on my right hand and arm... sometimes i just feel like snapping his neck! i don't know why this dog just gets under my skin! never encountered these kinds of feelings before with any other dog!

i got my utar offer letter on tuesday and the payment dateline is today! i think i've decided to wait for the upu results... furthermore biotech seems to be losing its lustre on me...and i've already handed in my resignation for the end of this month meanwhile utar requires us to start attending on the 18th... i just pray they don't blacklist me in case i do decide to join them next year.

this is little "dear" zack. i'm starting to think that his name really stands for zig-zack... he just goes wild and zooms around our garden like a black little devil!!! i always tell him that he's a disgrace to the the killer-dog race... because up close, he looks like a dobermann-in-a-distance! and his bark is so girlish... arrrrhf! arrrhf!! oh yeah, check out his eye brows!!! hehehe yuck...the other day my mum accidentally knocked me and i accidentally licked his eye!!! eeeeeuuuuuwwwww!!!! it was salty! *cough* *cough* of course i immediately washed my mouth with tremendous amounts of water!!! i need a total cleansing!

Hot dog on the rampage...

it's been awhile since my last post and frankly speaking, this is kind of getting very tiring!!! anyway, the newest addition to our home (besides the unknown births of pests and wild cats...) is zack (or is it zach? short form for zachariah? zachary? zig zack? whatever...). he's my cousin's dobermann pinscher (couldn't keep the dog because of condominium rules... but they're waiting for their new house)... i really don't know what is the dog's problem but he's super hyperactive and super horny!!! too much energy for such a little dog! and he's always so hot... even his velvety ears are always hot... maybe he's always so excited that his blood is always churning in his veins... well, he keeps on stealing our shoes and we can't catch him and that's just so d*** infuriating!!! he ruined one of my favourite shoes!!! and the greedy bugger wants to eat anything that goes into our mouths... even medication!!! and i've never seen such a busybody a.k.a kpc (ke-po-chi) dog before... he puts his whole head into your handbag/plastic bag/etc and riffles through its contents and steals candy and tissue paper... once, he stole a packet of 'fisherman's friend' lozenges!!! is he psycho or what? and he's so black that i always fail to see him sitting on our black sofa until it's too late... plus he keeps on dashing into my room (prohibited area for him)!!! jumping into any open car, climbing up the staircase and jumping like his legs were made of springs!!! i can't even do my work because he keeps stepping on it and bugging us with his wet nose! and even when you whack him (and he "terpelanting") he still doesn't know he's doing wrong ... instead he gives us this really big instigating grin! oh yea, and he has an extra right k-9 tooth! and we can't make too much movement because he follows us everywhere... it's just like that sting song "... every breath you take... every move you make... every bond you break... every step you take... i'll be watching you..." stalker psycho hyper dog...

but on a more pleasant note, it's been awhile since we had a dog... about 1 year or more... and sometimes when zack turns docile (automatic reaction when we start stroking his velvety wattle... skin under his neck) he's quite nice to pat (but nothing compared to the luxuriant curly fur of Dolly my darling late poodle) and nice to kiss... and we get to see his peculiar antics which are quite entertaining at times...

conclusion is... his bad points override his good traits... we'll be keeping him until my cousin's house is built...
